What an amazing Education Series

concluded by awarding $5,000 in scholarships to two
outstanding Latina Students in partnership with the Hispanic
Banker’s Association. Scholarships were awarded by the US
Treasurer, Ana Escobedo Cabral, at a dynamic HBA Luncheon
conducted on June 13th, 2007 at the Renaissance Hotel.

About our Series
The Education Series are free
seminars designed to encourage DISD Latina high school
students to stay in school and continue on to college. In
addition to providing students with college and financial
aid information, the seminars build leadership skills,
self-esteem and cultural awareness through the use of
workshops. The students are exposed to positive role models
through career panels composed of HWNT members and student
panels composed of Latina students attending local colleges
and universities.
