Congratulations to our chapter Estrella!
 

Elisa Castillo Najera, current historian of the Fort Worth chapter, has been selected as our 2008 Estrella de Tejas.

 

Elisa is involved in many community organizations including the United Hispanic Council to which she is the second vice-president. She also is  a volunteer teacher of Citizenship/ESL free classes at Gethsemane Presbyterian Church and a board member of the Greater Fort Worth Literacy Council, Fort Worth Commission on Women and the Community Action Team for the Fort Worth Independent School District.

 

She is a past president of the Fort Worth Chapter of HWNT and the Fort Worth Association of Educational Office Professionals (FWAEOP).

 

Elisa is a role model to all who meet her. She continuously lends a hand to whoever needs it even if they personally do not know they need it. She always has a smile and often a word of praise especially for students and new members.

 

Elisa will represent the chapter at the 22nd HWNT Annual Conference, August 15-16 in Houston.

 Join us and our Honorary Chair, Deborah Ferguson, as we celebrate art in a spectacular gala event. The evening will feature premiere artist Clara Gutierrez and her piece, “The Monarch’s Journey.”
There will be opportunities to view, appreciate, and purchase original pieces of art from a multitude of artists in addition to other items at the silent auction.  Feel free to browse or buy knowing all event proceeds benefit the HWNT Educational Fund.
